How to config incoming mail handler with google groups

I've created a google group and configured outgoing smtp to send as the group. When a user replies to the message it is sent back to the group's collaborative inbox where mail handler is pulling from. The problem I am having is how the message is being processed; the From shows as 'user' via group instead of just the user (the user is in the Reply-To). Jira's mail handler is using the group email address for the reporter, which is a user named "unknown". How do I either get the reporter from the Reply-To address or have the From as the user instead of the group?
