How to clear all Done tickets from a kanban board

I am using a kanban board in a team managed project. It used to be easy to clear all Done tickets from the board, with the three dot options at the top of the done column header. This was previously answered here. 

However with the new Jira UI, the three dot options are missing from the column headers. There doesn't seem to be any way to now clear done tickets from the board. I don't want to have to wait 2 weeks for them to clear automatically. I have looked in all the board settings including the column configurations which does not have this option either.

Hi @Alex Nicholson, it was taken out on purpose in the July board rollout for team-managed Software projects, so nothing is still hiding in the settings you went through.

Peter Oh from Atlassian put it plainly in the comments on the rollout article: "the removal of manually clearing done items was a conscious decision we made". What you get instead is the setting Lalithesh named, and it's under View settings, the button on the board's own top bar, not the board settings or column configuration you already checked. Hide done work items after offers 7, 14, 30, 60 days or Never, and one day was added on 30 July, so if yours stops at 7 that update may not have landed on your site yet.

It won't behave like the button did, and that bites on a shared board. View settings apply per user, so a shorter window tidies your view and nobody else's, although an admin can save it as the board default for the team. It's a threshold as well, so the column drains gradually as each item ages past the window.

JRACLOUD-99078 is the request to get the manual clear back on team-managed Kanban. Filed 3 August, Gathering Interest, three votes. Thin. Adding what you were actually using that button for will carry further there than a vote.

According to Atlassian's documentation, the Clear Done work items option should still be available for team-managed Kanban boards. Still, there is an important condition, that Sprints must not be enabled for the space.

Atlassian documents that if you don't have Sprints enabled, a space or Jira admin can manually clear completed work items by using:

Done column --> More actions (…) -->Clear Done work items

Completed work items are otherwise automatically cleared from the board after 14 days.

You can change the Hide done work items after setting from 14 days to 1 day. While this doesn't provide the old 'clear done issues' functionality, it will ensure that completed tickets are hidden the next day
