How to assure security compliance while connecting JSD on an instance and Jira on another instance

Hi Guys,
So here is our situation.
We have installed JSD server version on an instance because obsiously it is going to be opened to external inputs through the customer portal of JSD solution.
BUT we want to send JSD tickets to our Jira server used by our developpers.
How can we do that in compliance with very high level of security compliance ?
I am a Project manager and I am looking for best practices and ideas that I could share with our security team.
