How to Rename 'None' Custom Field Default Value?

I have created a radio button custom field that has None/Yes/No as options. I want to rename the 'None' option to 'Select Yes or No'. Is this possible?

I realize that I can simply add a value that is 'Select Yes or No' and make it the default, but I'm using a workflow validator that requires that the user to select Yes or No before they are able to move the issue through the workflow, so making the default anything besides 'None' seems to break this validation step.

Only if you want to modify the source code and then it would apply to all radio button fields.
