How do I show the status of a link to a jira issue outside my Jira Project into my timeline

Robert MARQUEZ-ext November 7, 2024 edited

In my timeline I have an epic. In the epic I made a web link to a story that is in a Jira Project outside of mine. The link is accepted and displays inside the epic at the bottom showing the story's status.

The problem is I cannot see the link displayed in the timeline under the epic like a child story. I want it to show as a child story in the timeline like the other child stories in the epic.

Is there a way to do this?

Hi @Robert MARQUEZ-ext

JIRA's timeline view doesn't natively support displaying links to external issues as child stories, you may have to try other options like implementing custom field / third-party plugins/ scripting.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
