Hello @Jamie Modiano

You can refer to this page: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Jira-questions/Free-plan-How-to-allow-a-single-user-to-edit-delete-issues/qaq-p/3176555

If this is a company-managed project, you do not have the access to permission schemes, rather by default this should be done by space administrators.

Hello

You should find the option to delete an issue in the More Actions menu.

In a Free subscription by default permissions can't be effectively customized because you can't allocate users to Project Roles, and all users should have access to this feature.

However, if he subscription was ever on a paid plan or a trial of a paid plan (Standard or Premium) then the Permissions may have been modified. A new Permission Scheme may have been applied and/or users may have been associated to Project Roles. In the Free state users can no longer be associated to Project Roles. In that case if a subscription is returned to Free then it still operates based on the Permissions that were applied during the paid/trial period.

If the Permissions need to be changed or the association of users to Project Roles need to be modified you can upgrade to a trial of a paid subscription, make the necessary changes, and then downgrade to free again.

Hi Jamie,

The quick answer is that it is more complicated than it is worth on a Free plan. AND that you shouldn't anyway because when a work item is deleted, it is gone forever. So the suggestion is to modify your workflow to add a Status for Canceled or Abandoned or something like that. Then don't map that status to a column on the board so it won't show up once moved to the status.

Later on if you have a paid subscription you can easily go back and delete those if your really need to.
