Exporting custom calculated fields to Excel

We have a custom calculated field that is displayed as expected in the Issue Navigator when I run a filter, but when I export to Excel, the field is null.  The column header is in the csv file but the values do not get populated.

I included the Project and the IssueType in my JQL filter but the values are not carried over to Excel.  Any ideas?

You have not mentioned how was that field implemented.

There are several apps that enable implementing calculated fields, but for Excel, this approach with the Better Excel Exporter app can work wonderfully.
