Enable Nested Groups

Can i turn off Enable Nested Groups in the User directories and still use nested groups for the local JIRA groups?

we have 3 user directories, all Read Only, Local Groups

haven't noticed any issues so far for doing this.

Have also discovered that turning off user membership attributes in our Microsoft Active Directory config stop the searching of all group memeberships and has reduced our timeouts on login.
