Email Requests - Keeping the same email address

Hi All

I have a QA instance of our Prod environment.

I have taken a backup of Prod and restored it to the QA instance.

Under the project email requests, the cloud email address i want to keep as a specific email address, however i keep getting an error saying that the email is already in use. (See attachment).

 

Is there a way to keep the same email after every restore?

At this stage i have to add a number before the @

Hi Robin,

Thank you for the details and screenshot.
When we take a backup from an instance and import to another, somehow the email address is kept with the old instance URL and it shows as it's already in use.
In this case, to make sure that the email is free to use in another project, please turn off the email requests and turn on again to re-create the channel and then try to change the email again.

Please, give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the response.  Just to clarify - Should I turn off the email prior to taking the backup?

Hi Robin, it's not necessary to turn off for the backup, after the import to the new URL, you can just turn off and on again for the email address to get the correct URL.
