Does Service Desk include a configuration item database

Would the Service Desk include a CI database? Can't imagine collision detection and incident assignment without it but can't find any reference in the online documentation.

No, but there's an add-on called "Insight" which can be used to do that.  (There are other add-ons too, but Insight is the one I've had the most success with)
