Deleting Scrum board with issues in active sprint

Hi,

when I try to delete Scrum board with issues in active sprint, Jira warns me with the following message :

This board contains issues from <sprint name>, and that sprint is currently active. We recommend completing or deleting active sprints before deleting <board name>. Learn more about running sprints.

Please, does anybody know, what exactly happens with this sprint, issues, reports etc. if I proceed with deleting?

The provided documentation is not very helpful.

I've found this post and it indicates, that active sprint will be deleted, if there's no other board with the same sprint. Is it possible there are more consequences?

@Hana Kučerová The actual issues will not be deleted. The impact will be with the Sprint custom field. The issue will not be associated with any sprint once the board is deleted. If there is a rank set on these issues, they will be reset too. Otherwise, no other field values will be affected. Is there a specific reason why you want to delete the board?
