Hi,
I have two questions essentially.
If I move an issue from one jira project to another and its issue id is changed I want to know if users search for the old issue id will it send them to the new issue in the new project?
And if so, is there a way to create a custom field that would automatically be filled for issues that were moved and lists their old issue id?
The reason is I'm being tasked with a bulk project consolidation project, where I have to collapse 6-8 projects into one, But the users still want to have an option of being able to see what the old issue id was in the newly merged issues
Hi Rob,
Yes, if the user searches for the old key, it will find it and send them to the new key.
Not sure I really follow the second question. Why would you need the custom field if they can search for the old one. They can also see the old key in the history of the issue.
Thanks for clearing that up for me.
As far as the second part, it was something my customer was asking for. But I think they will be satisfied with being able to lookup old keys and being redirected to the new key.
