Creating custom date range fields

Hi,

I am trying to show number of hours spent by each assignee and task for each month .

As I understand I should be creating a custom field1 with month(created).

How shall I create a field like that and how can I make a table like one below?.

You will need an addon for this. I use “time reports” but there are other options.

Is there any other way? I got only 2 weeks left in my contract. I wont be able to get the approval for installing addon in such short time.
