Hello! We want to change some logic in Jira board. Before we were creating Epic and after Issue in it. Now we do not want to use Epic anymore and create issue without it. When we are filling fields we can not create the issue because it is requesting to fill Epic Link. How could I remove dependency?
one of two possible causes to check:
I have tried to find this filed but there is not any field called "Epic Link". I have not checked Workflow validator yet.

Checked Workflow validator and removed Epic Link. Field was changed with Parent instead of Epic Link. If this field is empty, I can not register issue.

Correct! Epic link was obsoleted so any direct reference could cause such issues.
if your issue is resolved please consider accepting answer.

Question: for which issue types you are trying to create where it says that Epic Link is mandatory?
Another thing, if you do not want to use the Epic in your project, you can remove the Epic issue type from that project. This also depends if you have a team-managed or company-managed project, the difference is the place where the configuration of issue types can be adjusted.
Click on Actions then Edit Issue types. From there, remove the Edit issue type from the project and make sure to save the changes.

Hello! Thank you for your answer. It is created issue type, not default. It is called "Candidate". I want to remove dependency between epic and this issue type and we still want to use epic so I do not want to remove epic at all.
