Create Confluence Space when a new Jira Project is created

I am trying to setup an automation to create a confluence space and link it to the newly created project. The space name should be the same as the project.

I used the AI tool, but the automation it built only creates a page.

The prompt I used was:

"When a new project is created, create a Confluence space with the same name as the project and link the space to the new project."

There is not a pre-built action in Jira Automations for creating a Confluence space.

The work-around is to use the Send Web Request action to call the Confluence API for creating a space.

Hi Ron,

Jira Cloud can automatically create a Confluence space when you create a new company-managed project.

Just look for the option to "Connect your work" in the project creation wizard. You'll be able to create a new Confluence space right there and link it to your project.
