Connect Office 365 "Shared Mailbox" not possible?

I just wanted to check if it is still the case that Jira SD Cloud can NOT connect to an Office 365 "Shared Mailbox" as the below thread indicated a year ago?

It was, and still is, able to connect to a "shared mailbox".   The problem in the question you have found is not about shared mailboxes really, it's more about people using them not quite understanding them.

As long as you see that it will (rightly) treat the shared address as though it is simply another person, it will work fine.

So, what am I not understanding?

Are you saying I need to somehow set the password for the "shared mailbox" and use it directly to connect?

 

Using  jira@[company].com\<Shared Mailbox Alias>  or any other variation results in:
