Change portal submitted form visibility via automation

Hello, I am struggling to find a way to change form visibility via automation.  Here's the scenario:

1. A hiring manager uses the JSM portal to create a request to generate an offer letter (includes confidential salary data)
2. The request type uses a JSM form to collect this information
3. The request is created, with the form attached "external"

I cannot find a way to automate changing the form to "internal" visibility such that the salary data is not exposed to everyone listed as a watcher on the request.  

JSM automation would allow me to change the form status -- but there's no option to change the form visibility.  

Am I missing something?  Thanks for the help!

There is a change request for that capability here:

There is a work around listed in it. I have tried the work-around myself.
