Can you link custom field(s) to more than one project?

Hello Community,

We are currently using Jira 7.10. Is it possible to link an already existing custom field or fields to more than one project in Jira? Our customer currently has multiple custom fields in their project. We are expecting to have more projects for them and they want to know if some of the custom fields we have now can also be used for other projects. Can custom fields be linked across projects?

Hi Katie,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

Custom fields are available to all projects within the instance, you control if the field is available for each project by adding it to screens used by the projects, and field configurations.
