Can we retroactively alter which sprints a task was assigned to once those sprints are closed?

We had a person go out without completing two tasks in a sprint.  It took 4 sprints until we realized the problem and removed the two tasks from the current sprint so that the tasks would no longer automatically "roll" forward to the next sprint and the engineer could assign them when ready.  These tasks moving to the next sprint after each sprint closed has caused a big skew in the reporting metrics for this project.  Is there a way we can retroactively alter which sprints a task was assigned to once those sprints are closed?
