I made the project template a business. A lot of things have been updated over time.
I'd like to change to Kanban in software development. Is it possible?

You cannot change the templates that come with Jira. However, you can create a Company-Managed project and update it to include all of the schemes you would like with all of the information you desire.
Then when you create new projects, just create them using the Existing project you created. Then it will share the same schemes just like a template does.

It is not possible to change the project type after it has been created.
You can, however, make and save a filter that selects all the issues from the existing project, and then create a new kanban board from that saved filter. The kanban board in that case will work like a Kanban board created for a software project. Refer to this article for more information on that topic:
If you want to completely convert the project to a software project you would have to create a new software project and Move the issues from the original project to the new project.
Note that if either your source project or your new Software project are Team Managed projects then moving the issues from one project to another could result in loss of data. Refer to
