Automation rule for daily routine due date check

Hi, 

Can someone help me with this automation rule, please?  I want to send an email 2 days prior due date.  JQL query is validated and comes back with 1 issue.  So I should be receiving an email,  yet no email is send to reporter as designed.  Audit log says no actions performed. 

I appreciate anyone's help in advance. 

Here is the rule -

1. Run JQL in project HRE and check for due date

2. If due date is 2 days later, then email.  Yet, according to Audit Log, not actions performed.

Notice this checkbox.

After validating the query, the rule will then check the Updated date of each issue to see if it has been changed since the last time this rule ran. If the issue is unchanged, then no action will be taken for that issue.
