I have created an automation from my project that broadcasts a message to the organisation in a slack channel once a task is moved to "Done" and certain conditions are fulfilled.
The message is currently posted in the Slack channel under an "Automation for Jira" user.
I have tried to make it so that the user that saves the issue as "Done" (and effectively triggers the automation), be the one that posts the Slack message, but have not managed to get it to work, and was wondering if anyone had ever tried - successfully - to do the same thing?
Thanks,
Hi @Arthur Sussmilch -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
According to this other post, that is not possible yet:
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Automation-questions/Send-Slack-message-not-from-quot-Automation-for-Jira-quot/qaq-p/1538349
The suggested work-around is to added the initiator's information to the content/beginning of the message which is sent.
Kind regards,
Bill
