Automatically assign tickets to a specific reporter

Hello all,

in my company we are logging our times in Jira and syncing it to another timebooking tool (dont ask why, this cant be changed :D )

This syncing is only working when a ticket is set to a specific reporter or people from a specific user group. I know that Jira cant do it by its own, so a tweak is needed.

Is there a way to build and run a job (once or twice a day) to check all tickets in specific projects and change their reporter to a specific person (or people from a specific user group). I know that the Bulk Change can do that. But its manually and i want something automatic.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the community.

You could do something like that with the Automation for Jira app. There are other apps that would also help you do that.

Alternately you could create a solution of your own using the REST API.

There is not a built-in solution for that in Jira Server, that would allow you to schedule the activity.
