Any hints on using Affected Services in Sandbox for development and testing?

Robert Quinn October 24, 2025

There does not seem to be a way to use Affected Services field in Sandbox - trying to Dev & test work with affected services in Sandbox - any way to do so?

I Know they do not copy from Prod - but can I create a few for Testing?

Hi Robert,

Try a few things here and let me know your findings:

  1. Check that the Affected services field is applied to the screen(s) for the work types that the request types are configured to.
  2. Go to Project/Space Settings and find the request type in the Request Types list that you want to add Affected services to.
  3. Switch to the "Work item view" tab and add the Affected services field to either the Description fields area or the Context fields area.
  4. Go to "Features" in Project/Space settings and ensure the feature for "Services" is enabled.
  5. Go to "Operations" in the Project/Space view. You should end up at the Services screen, in which you can create a new service.
  6. Go to a work item with the request type that you edited earlier. You should be able to see the Affected services field and should be able to apply a service, if you've created one.

Can you try these steps?

I was able to perform these in my organization's sandbox.
