What can we learn?
Did you now there’s a page in admin.atlassian.com that displays recent announcements, improvements, fixes, and other application changes? I didn’t - until I went hunting one day when a user asked “When was X changed?” Use this page to stay ahead of updates, particularly when your applications are on the continuous release track.
While an application’s audit log shows changes made by users and admins, the app log shows changes like third-party app installs and updates, and the insights audit log shows changes to user details, access, and organization settings, those areas are all reactive. They only show changes after they’ve occurred. The release tracks page, however, also shows new updates arriving soon and helpful timing details.
For changes after they’ve occurred:
Audit log: Jira admin > System > Audit log
App audit log: Jira admin > Marketplace apps > View audit logs (link at page bottom)
Insights audit log: admin.atlassian.com > Insights > Audit log
For recent and upcoming changes:
App updates: admin.atlassian.com > Apps > Release management (Under “Platform experiences” header) > App updates
Cloud and Data Center Roadmap → https://www.atlassian.com/roadmap/cloud
Use the menus at the top of the App updates page to filter the list by keyword, impacted app, status, or change type.
Filter the change list by status
Click on any change for additional details like which apps are impacted, a rollout schedule, and a description of key changes and benefits.
Tip: Filter the list by “planned” and “coming soon” status. Then browse the list for impactful changes. When you encounter one, click it and enable the “Watch this release note” toggle on the top right of update’s details page. (Pictured) You’ll receive an email notification when the status or timeframe changes.
