Introducing the Jira 2026 Spring Release

Thanks for the release information @Dave Meyer

I unfortunately found the changes made to the reports tab yesterday, this implementation of dashboards instead of reports is one of the worst unwanted changes I've seen in a long time, it's on a level with moving the status dropdown!

I can understand that having the dashboard may be useful for some teams, but why put it under the reports tab; it would make much more sense for that to have been under the summary tab which already has some of the same information, or if that sensible approach couldn't be taken add an entirely new tab.

For those of us who use Sprint reports etc. those are much more important to have easily accessible rather than hidden away in a button press on an unwanted dashboard!  I thought the purpose of Jira was to make our lives easier and to echo @Julia Foden WHY? More clicks, more confusion.

You've added in an unwarranted extra step with extra clicks that we as admins now have to explain to teams across the business and in many cases update training documentation.

I have been pushing back hard against our business who want to move all teams onto a single platform - not Jira, but it is changes like this that reduce the value of Atlassian products that make me ask myself why I'm doing so.

I'm a little confused by this announcement. The way it's written, it sounds like you are saying:

"We are no longer going to release things 'whenever we feel like it'; instead, we're going to have a real schedule and make announcements and enable things on specific dates which will be communicated to you beforehand and everything!"

However I am still seeing a pretty constant stream of changes. Are we not doing this anymore?

What is going on with the new issue creation screen?! No outlines anywhere, and no formatting for the description? ALL of our tickets use bullet points or headlines to break down the work... This is absolutely ridiculous.

@Larissa Gutscher You can switch off the create screen disaster (or your admin can).

(General configuration > Options > Simple create as default)

@Julia Foden Thanks, I am not a Jira admin beyond my team's space but I am now begging the actual admins to do it.

Oh hey @Dave Meyer,

Somehow I missed this announcement. Probably because there are STILL too. many. streams. to. follow. (Cloud Changes Blog, Cloud Roadmap, Jira Cloud Admins Community Group, Community Release Notes, Seasonal Release Notes.)

And like @Haddon Fisher points out, how do these releases relate to the still WEEKLY firehose of releases we are seeing in ye olde blog and the much nicer "Community" release notes?

From a superficial view, it seems like this new Launchnotes site includes all the whizzy new features that you can make a cool video about. Which uh, cool.

Well here's something missing from the new site: any mention of actual rollout dates.

For instance, All your team’s metrics, one smart space (Space Insights) was posted (I assume it's a post date, like a... blog?) on April 27, 2026. You wrote on April 27, 2026, "This first release is rolling out now and will be generally available for all Jira cloud customers by early May 2026."

But back on June 1, 2026@Christian Carlevaris Podesta asked when it would be coming to his Cloud Premium site. Perhaps he is on Bundled Track?

Because I was doing my monthly review, I learned that that the Space Insights feature is coming to Bundled Release Tracks on 2026.07.14.

But otherwise I would have never heard about it, except for a post on June 15, 2026 by @Rob Hean.

Rob - when did you first see this new feature?
