I did not find any option for TestRail Integration with Next-gen project. Our team is more suitable with Next-gen project rather than Core Jira Project.  so we need TestRail Integration in it. Test Cases Management with this integration would be really helpful for our team.

Hi @Hammad Shabbir

At present, TestRail does not work with Next-gen projects.

You need to use the classic projects.

When will this be implemented?

We've switched to next-gen Jira projects and lost SO much functionality it's untrue!

Hello everyone,

This is Jacob from the TestRail support team, happy to address the concerns here. In our testing, all project types, including next-gen projects, are fully compatible with the current feature-set of the Jira integration. From the TestRail side, all communication done with the Jira instance to create new issues or preview them from within TestRail is done over the API, and those actions will remain the same regardless of the project type in use.

For the TestRail for Jira plugin, all of the standard sections that are populated in your Jira issues for linked TestRail entities are available. The sections on the right side, like "TestRail: Cases" and "TestRail: Runs" should display by default, and will expand to show direct links to linked test cases or runs when clicked.

The "TestRail: Results" that shows up under the main issue description is still available, but may not show by default. You can enable them when viewing an issue by clicking the three dots next to the issue summary to open the display menu. If the plugin is configured properly, you should see the "TestRail: Results" option, which, when selected, will display that section below the issue description, allowing you to view results tied to the linked tests, test cases, and runs.

I hope that clarifies everything. If you have any issues or feedback regarding the TestRail/Jira integration, the optional plugin, or any other aspect of TestRail, please reach out to our support team at contact@gurock.com and we'll be happy to help. Cheers!
