issue export: maximum number of tickets (Jira 7.2.7)

Christoph Piotrowski May 8, 2017

Hi all,

I know that in older JIRA version there was a built in limitation for the amount of tickets a user can export. This is was well described in the following article:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/exporting-a-filter-result-containing-more-than-1000-issues-191500982.html

A customer reported, that the limitation still exists when using the rest interface, but he was abe to export an larger amount using the built in ticket export function.

Has the built in export improved and is now independent from max issue settings of the server configuration?

Christoph

Seems that since 8.2 performance issue is no longer a big problem.

As of Jira 8.2, the memory problems are less frequent, especially if not exporting all fields.
We’ve changed the way the exported issues are stored in the cache, significantly reducing the amount of memory required during the export. If you're using Jira 8.2 or later, you can safely increase the limit. For more info about this fix and the affected Jira versions, see this issue.
