Multiple Servers running various licenses - need consolidation guidance

Sean Sommers July 14, 2014

We have had multiple users in our enterprise purchase independent licenses for Jira, Fisheye and Crucible and they are each running on different servers; some in our data center, some on "local" servers. For example, one instance is running for 50-100 users in our data center. A seperate license purchase for an unlimited commercial license is running in a local lab-like environment. To consolidate these into one instance in our data center and make use of our unlimited commercial license purchase, we would like to know how we can least painfully transfer the unlimited license running on one server, to the server that is running the license for 50-100.

Can we transfer a license from one server to another? If so, how do we go about it?

No, you can't transfer things around like that. Any instance of an application has one single licence, there's no way to add more.

What you should do is get in touch with "sales at atlassian dot com" - they will help you consolidate your disparate licences together. However, if you've already got one "unlimited" licence, you probably don't really need to worry about licences - you can transfer all your work into one instance of each app, use the unlimted licence and throw the rest away.
