We are evaluating a possibility to move from our current project management platform - "ZEN" by Stratitude.com - integrated with a Salesforce instance to Jira. The data structure is pretty simple as in Release - Scope - Requirement - Defect. We'd like to use tools that become available with GreenHopper and Kanban in our new agile environment.

Is it possible to perform such a migration and what are the steps we should take to prepare for it?

Thank you,

Yuriy.

Whereas I don't know at all what ZEN does and what are its capabilities, generally you have a couple of option when importing to JIRA:

  • use CSV import
  • use JSON import (which is more sophisticated and powerful to what CSV import allows you to do)
  • write your own importer on top of JIRA Importers Plugin
  • ask Atlassian Experts for help
  • use JIRA Command Line Interface (CLI) in a script - to populate JIRA with data you will get from your ZEN platform
