Jira Advanced Search does not support ~ when searching a partial text name of a Component, is there a work-around for this?

I need to make a filter and search for partial text in the component name. When i tried it says the component name does not support ~.

Is there another way to perform this kind of search on a Component?

It's amazing that a simple substring search falls under the category of "Advanced Searching." IMHO, it is BASIC search functionality. Explaining to my users that they can't do a substring search (without add-ons which are no longer free and goofy scripting languages) makes it really difficult to sell my potential users on JIRA.

For the moment, JIRA do not support '~' according our latest Advanced Search documentation here:https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Advanced+Searching#AdvancedSearching-Component
