Cannot seem to figure out how to setup Project Visibility

Russ LeWinter
April 18, 2012

Only want a specific group of users to have access to a project we are working on. Those users will be "walled" from our normal JIRA Studio use. Users will login and only have the project from their drop down, only see issues/agile and Subversion integration for that project.

Can anyone help? I need step by step instructions, it seems the one in the Wiki does not want to work with the most recent update of the system.

I've no problem with the instructions in the wiki, but you probably need to do the usual when this crops up.

Look at the permission schemes - you're almost certainly using a "can login" group to say "can browse project" (usually, the group is "jira users"). You need to get rid of that setup and the standard advice is to remove jira users from all permissions completely (except the global "can use Jira"), then build your groups back up. Or better, use roles.
