Am trying to customize and create a issue with 'severity' as A,B,C,D,E and then trying to add subseverity for these issues which is dependent on the severity of these issues. How do we do it in JIRA?

Eg. The severity A will have subseverity as showstopper. The B will have subseverity such as Financial Error, accounting Error etc.

Severity is just a custom field, and you've probably selected a "select list" for it.

Try using a "cascading select list" instead.
