Repointing references to a deleted jira account.

A user had inadvertently created a duplicate account in Jira. Because of this, whenever the user was mentioned in Confluence pages it could have been either of his accounts that were referenced.

This issue has now been identified and the duplicate account has been deleted. However, a number of user mentions in Confluence now instead read as "@user-19f98", hovering over the hyperlink presents a message: User '<random-text>' not found.

Are there any changes we can perform to repoint any references to user-19f98 to the original (and correct) user account?

The @mention account might not be in the system anymore since it was from an external directory.  You could check using SQL to see if it still exists.  If it does you could do this https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-merge-two-users-content-ownership-and-permissions-in-confluence-957149073.html

I am not sure that this will rectify the @mention issue though.  You might have to just update the pages as you find them.
