Starting a sprint using future time and date

I started a sprint using a future date and time.

When i viewed that Sprint it reflected ACTIVE.

Questions:

Was this future started Sprint ACTIVE for display purposes only and not started until  the specified date and date?

As long as you do not click on Complete sprint in the Active Sprint sections, all sprints would be visible there even though you have finished with all tasks or not even started the sprint.
