"Root cause" default field

My default field configuration shows these fields:

  • Root cause analysis
  • Root cause analysis and workaround

What are these fields and where can I enable them?

They are not present on the "Default Field Configuration" list or "Custom fields" list.

I wasn't able to find any documentation about these.

I'm asked to enable these specific fields, but to me they don't seem to exist.

Note: I had tested service management, but all those projects have been deleted and this project in question is a normal software project

Hi @LAL , I am thinking these are custom fields. Especially given the description grammar. You say you do not find these under admin settings > issues > custom fields? I wonder if they might be from a previous TMP JSM project.

if you wish to have these fields as part of your configurations scheme and indeed cannot find under custom fields, I would suggest creating new fields for the same purpose and removing the old. It is strang the they are part of the default scheme.

They are not under custom fields which is peculiar to me.

My initial thought was that either someone had created those fields without informing me or they might be from the old service management.

Perhaps there is some caching issue on Jira backend? The removal of JSM projects is not recent though.

Hi @LAL

These fields are part of a JSM project and as you mention, you tried JSM projects, but removed the projects later on.

The field configuration could have inherited these.

But I have looked at an instance of mine, with JSM and these fields are not there.

Dit you start your Cloud from scratch or migrated from server/DC or did you had apps that could have placed the fields.

But to me it seems like there is something left in the DB, you will need to contact Atlassian Support on this.

Other point, if you want the fields, creeate new custom fields.

Cloud from scratch, we've always had cloud services only.

I think ill contact Atlassian support if this doesn't clear itself up in the week or so.

Thanks, custom fields it is then.
