prepare-install-script on jumphost

The arm templates conists of configuraton for deploying a jumphost. What is the use of this jumphost other than connecting to the application nodes? I see a prepare-install-script extension is added to thsi vm. If I delete the jumphost, will it affect any functionality of the application nodes? especially will it create problems wjile adding new nodes to the cluster?
What is the purpose of installing this extension in the jumphost?

Hi @Jobin Jose

They have configured Jumphost first with Jira installed in it, now Jira is installed and configured in Jumphost.

For the application nodes, they have used a Jumpbox's base image to install Jira.

Once you have deployed the template it is your responsibility to take care of scaling, the template doesn't do that.

Thanks,
Pramodh
