plug-in to export data to excel?

Deleted user September 5, 2016

Hello,

I was wondering, whether there is a plug-in that enables the data transfer from JIRA in excel format?

If not, any suggestion on transfering a file in csv to excel would also be welcome smile

Thanks in advance.

Better Excel is the JIRA add-on you are looking for.

Hi,

you can export an issue list from the search result in JIRA (core or software) in CSV, Excel, Word and RSS. You can choose the column (data) of the issue you want or simply export all data from all field.

the export possibilities can be founded on the top right corner of your search results (click on the 3 dots)

cheers,

damien.

One should understand the difference between exporting

(a) a single issue and

(b) headers of multiple issues.

While Jira alone is capable of (b) you might need a plugin, or app, for (a).

Two leaders are discussed here: https://softwareplant.com/bigtemplate-vs-xporter/.

What they do better then Jira is they provide customizable templates, not to mention that they support extra formats (other than standard PDF/DOCX/XLSX/CSV), such as MPP (Microsoft Project).

Documentation for this is here;

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira064/exporting-search-results-to-microsoft-excel-720416693.html

You should note that if you have one of the later versions of JIRA I would suggest exporting in HTML and opening the resulting file in excel as the "export to excel" option has gone away.
