ondemand jira - join two custom field values to create a 3rd custom value

Hello,

using OnDemand Jira, I have created two custom fields. I would like to join these two togeather automaically on submission to create a 3rd value.

i.e.

Custom Field One => Major Version = 2.0

Custom Field Two => Minor Version = 8

Custom Field Three => full version number = 2.0.8

*NB: I would need some logic to add the additional dot or I could change the 2nd value to .8 etc

Since you are on JIRA OnDemand the answer is No. Is there a reason why you don't use a version picker where the complete versions are stored?

Thanks for the info Udo. The example was just that. I actually want to join several casscading boxes into one field value that I can use in another db lookup.
