no agile menus

Mercedes Arredondo Nov 22, 2012

I am totally new with Jira and are only testing it to see if it feets to our needs.

Very sorry to ask what it looks a silly question but we are here two senior engineers and dont find the answer so I am going for it.

Problem: We have signed up for 1 month free Jira on demand but but we can not see the Agile tab in our navigation, nor the administration tab.....

Am I missing something?

Thanks a lot

If you are the technical contact of the instance, you can follow the steps below to get GreenHopper enabled. If you are not the main contact, you can ask the main contact to through the same steps:

1. Log in to MAC (

2. Click on "Atlassian OnDemand (Annual Payments)

3. Click on "Configure"

4. Click on "Start a Free Trial" beside GreenHopper

5. Save changes

In case all these steps do not help, feel free to raise a support request through SAC. An engineer should be able to screen share with you and further investigate.

All the best !!!

You also need to activate the Greenhopper plugin to get the agile menu. It has its own license.

If you are using Atlassian OnDemand then you do not need to install GreenHopper, as it is supplied under Atlassian's Hosted Commercial Add-ons program. You may order and manage your GreenHopper OnDemand licenses by logging into your account at

Hi Norman,

We actually have gone thought all documentation. I read this paragraph you mention bellow may be 20 times and several other information about the GreenHooper. I just CAN NOT follow the instructions of the help because I dont have the features I should be clicking at like AGILE tab and ADMINISTRATION tab

YES As you comment I am using Jira on demand.

I can see on my account page that Manage Plugins has the greenhopper enabled

But I dont see the way to do so---->You may order and manage your GreenHopper OnDemandlicenses by logging into your account at ----> ¿HOW? which menu? wich option?

Sorry about the tone of the note. But really we have been stoped due to this too long and that does not help mutch to become a friend of this tool. I hope you understand.

Can you login to your or not? There is no menu or option at this point. It is a login screen. Can you type this url into your browser and get to the login screen? If so, can you enter the credentials? If do not have the credentials, then you need to track down the person that initiated the OnDemand evaluation. If that was either of you two, then contact support since you should have an account.

Once you login to your account, you order up an evaluation license for Greenhopper. This will give you a license.

HI Mercedes,

Currently Noman's latest comment is incorrect, as GreenHoppen on OnDemand is an add-on for JIRA and if you generate an evaluation license for GreenHopper it will only work for standalone instances.

You can create a support ticket at and our engineers will quickly assist you.

I hope it helps!

yes from I was able to "start a free trial" for Greenhopper so this is the right way.

Please note that is confusing for users not having this option from their jira place and while greenhopper and other pluggins show as enabled, they are not until you go again and make a request of "start a free trial"....

Thanks a lot to everyone!
