how to add action item in description field at Rule builder?

I am trying to add a check list to review tasks ... but I can not find the correct syntax to the action item (check box). 
I have used all these syntax, but not one of them renders as a check box.

There are currently no wiki markdown codes for adding Action Items to rich text fields like the Description field.

Our 'in-house-hacker' @Darryl Lee has found a workaround here.

It's not straight forward, but with @David Bakkers comment you can get action items in your description via automation.
