how can i generate reports for project based on component?

I have been trying to generate a report for my project in Jira cloud to visually represent status/progress of the project based on components or labels. Is this possible?

I would suggest that you look at the dashboard two-dimensional gadget. You could set the Y-axis to be your component field or labels and the X-axis could be status.

Firstly, to answer your question, "YES" it's possible. 

Option 1: If you are good with JQL, then you may create your own. e.g. below screenshot

Option 2: Simply extract the data and use pivot table to visualize the same.

Option 3: You may check the market place apps for the same. E.g., Microsoft power BI etc.

I know my answer is a bit generic, but you may choose as per your feasibility.
