automate moving issues from backlog to kanban board in the same project

I'm trying to automate the process of changing issue status, moving between the backlog and the board, or vice versa, but the current project doesn't appear in the board selector.

Welcome to the community.

This action only works when you move an issue to another board.

Within a same board the issue is in the backlog based on the issue status. You have a backlog in scrum or kanban board. The backlog is not a separate board.

Backlog and board (columns) are based on the workflow uses by the issue type in the project.

The action you are trying is when moving an issue on the same board, this can't be done via this automation action.

To have the issue you are transitioning in the backlog, transition it to a status that is used in the backlog

FYI...

The automation Move action helps for Team-Managed projects (TMP), where the issue Status does not impact whether or not an issue is on the board: they need to be explicitly moved to / from the board instead.  I recall this is the primary reason the action was added.
