application link between two different JIRA versions

J March 9, 2016

Hello,

I have 2 different JIRA instances. One is JIRA v7.0.5 and the other JIRA v6.3.4. When I try to link both JIRA's with one another I get the following error message:

JIRAAppLink.JPG

The following conditions exist:

  1. Both applications are installed on onsite-premises servers
  2. Both servers have firewall-visibility (there is no port or IP blocking)
  3. I had a link between both servers before upgrading one instance to JIRA version 7.0.5 which worked fine.

Does anyone have any idea what might be the reason for not being able to app-link both instances?

Any help is welcome!

thanks,

Jacques.

Check the logs to see if there are any error messages.

One issue could be that the connection is failing because of SSL errors. You will need to import the public cert of one JIRA into the Java keystore of another. And vice versa. Could be another problem as well but you will have to check the logs to narrow it down.
