add component to backlog cards on a single line

I would like to add the Component field to my backlog cards, but I don't want it to be on a new line, which halves the number of issues that are visible.

I added this field through the board configuration but it's on a separate line. Is there a way to have it on the existing line? I am using JIRA Server and would be happy to use an add-on if there is on that would help.

There is no way to do this off the top of my head. But you could try and do a JS hack using the announcement banner?
