Why am I no longer receiving emails when I @ myself in a JIRA ticket

I regularly @ myself in JIRA tickets so that I receive an email as it works as a good reminder. However, recently I have noted that when I @ myself I am no longer receiving the emails. Please could this be fixed?

Hi @jo ,

Could you please check whether you have set 'My Changes' attribute under your user preferences section to 'Do not notify me'. In that case you will not be receiving any email notifications for your own changes/comments.
