Where is User API Key in Jira Cloud?

Jason Terando February 5, 2018

Hi, in the new Jira UI for the Cloud (hosted) version, I'm having trouble hunting down where to set a user's API Key to be able to make RESTful calls.  I don't see it in the Jira User Profile screen, nor do I see it in the Atlassian account settings.

Can somebody point me in the correct direction?

Thanks

Hi Jason,

Are you trying to allow users to access JIRA using the Rest API?  If so they don't need to set an API key as the permissions to user the REST API will be dependent on the permissions the users have in JIRA.

At this time it's not possible to make the access permissions more granular at this time.  Please vote on JRASERVER-42122 to add this functionality.  If there's something else you're looking for let us know.

Cheers,

Branden

Hi, I'm just looking for where the user can create their API key that can be used for basic authentication for doing simple user scripts.

Actually, nevermind... I have to use Cookies anyway since I want to get avatar images on our domain.  Kind of makes it moot
