i have a user that's unable to add comments. Prior to the new jira issue view, the user didn't have any problems. The work-around for the user has been to go back to the old view in order to add comments.
so just a single user cannot comment in the new issue view but they can in the old issue view? that seems quite odd. assuming the above is accurate I would reach out to Atlassian Support.
no other users have reported the same issue. I'll create a ticket with support

ah. ok that last bit is important. I have seen others reporting inability to save a comment with an image in the new Jira issue view. I have seen this as well but could not reproduce. I think there is a 'bug' around this TBH.
