Updating Issue Status based on multiple subtasks having the same status

Hya

I'm trying to figure out how to achieve the following:

For any issue within a certain project that has any number of subtasks/linked issues - update the main issue's status only once all subtask/linked issue statuses are transitioned to Done.

Anyone has experience with this?

Hi @yael , welcome to the community.

Yes indeed this can be done using automation. Now if you check the Automation Library you may find a rule specifically for closing the parent when the children are done. It looks like this...

now you will need to modify this to include the Links condition. I Will refer you to this previous post that discusses how to deal with your link condition. You just need to incorporate this into the above rule. If you attempt this and get stuck please share your rule here so I can have a look and try to guide you further.

Hi @Jack Brickey

Thank you for the warm welcome as well as the quick reply :)

I've done the following but the automation wasn't triggered when two subtasks were marked as Done. Any pointers as to what I missed?
