Hello everyone,
I have a 'Text Field (multi-line)' field and I want to change from the default text renderer to wiki style renderer. From other posts in the atlassian community and support, I've found out that this is possible from Jira Settings>Issues>Field Configurations.
I followed the given steps and found the setting. However, even after I changed the renderer, my field is still displayed (creation and edit screen) using the default renderer. Is there some detail I am missing? Is just the setting not functional? Let me know if you need additional information.
Thank you in advance.
Hello @Dimitris Kamposos
This is because you are probably using a default field configuration which will have the default render of that added field.
To fix this, you would need to change the configuration within the the project itself:
You edit this clicking on the pencil icon, going to your field and you will see that it's a default text renderer.
However it is recommended to use a different field configuration scheme that should be applied to the project.
Thank you @Nikola Perisic! That solution solved my problem indeed.
But I have one more question. I am already using a custom field configuration for my project, and as I mentioned in my original post, I followed the path Jira Settings>Issues>Field Configurations>MyCustomFieldConfiguration, and changed the field's default renderer from there. How is that configuration any different from the one in your screenshot?
